Location

Visit Liddington St Marys Church and Marlborough High Street The town of Marlborough is steeped in history, from the Neolithic era through the Royalty of the Elizabethan age.

The Town itself features the prettiest and widest High Street in England, which affords plenty of parking for strolling or shopping, with numerous historical sites on the High Street itself. These include St Mary's Church with its Roman sculpture and St Peter's Norman style Church containing Saxon construction and a lovely arts and crafts shop with a tea room.

Slightly further a field you will find Liddington Castle, a Neolithic hill-fort known to be the battle site where King Arthur was defeated by the Saxon invaders. Visitors to the Ivy House Hotel can also discover the ancient sacred temples of Avebury and Silbury Hill. Both protected by The National Trust.
